Profmed is a restricted medical aid scheme that is open to professionals who have obtained a minimum of a four-year degree – offering these individuals exclusive yet affordable medical cover. Profmed’s medical and healthcare benefits, coupled with excellent service and attention to detail, are offered at affordable rates. Student rates are also applicable to those who are currently in the fourth year of their degree.
Profmed’s vision is to address the healthcare needs of professionals through appropriate and comprehensive benefit design. Profmed medical aid scheme has an AA- credit rating from international rating agency, Global Credit Ratings.
In order for Profmed to maintain its restricted medical aid scheme status, it is necessary that Profmed's eligibility criteria are upheld.
Any person with at least a four-year degree – or two or more degrees that together constitute four or more years of study, which qualifies that person to provide a professional service – meets the criteria to become a Profmed member. Students in their fourth year of study in a field that will qualify them to provide professional services are also eligible, and Profmed offers student rates to these individuals.
Application to Profmed is subject to the Scheme’s eligibility process.
